Hi again Nancy,
The 1880 household census in Granite, Salt Lake county, Utah shows Hans with four of his five wives: Hannah, Cecelia, Louisa and Annie. It also shows eleven children and his brother P. Neil M Chlarson. Herman is not listed, but since I have only seen a summary and not the actual document, it may be that the census was done before he was born.
I am sure that we are talking about the same person. Hans and Hannah had one son named Hans, but he died in infancy and so I think it unlikely there was another Hans Chlarson there.
Hans is buried with all five of his wives in eastern Arizona in Thatcher. The cemetary is high on a hill outside of town and there is a quite nice monument listing Hans and all the wives names, buried all around him.
Don't give up hope finding the information you need, its out there and you will come across it sooner or later.
I have been working on the Chlarson line since 1972 and I am still finding out new information. Especially now that the internet has opened so many records for easy viewing, it is a wonderful way to get to know your family.
