It appears that Freeman married 2nd wife Betsey in 1801. By 1810 they had 3 children under 10, o boy and 2 girls. These are Salmon, Samantha and Sally - born between 1804 and 1809. When he filed for his pension around 1820, he had 5 children at home, so that is 2 more to find. Salmon died in 1843 and Samantha in 1828. At the time of the pension application by Betsey, Sally was the eldest daughter.
On the 1810 census, Freeman also had a female in the 10-16 age bracket. This girl is too old to be Betsey's daughter and is not listed as Freeman's daughter with Martha. However, a marriage record has been located for Sarah Sally Norton, dau of Freeman Norton and Martha Chipman, being married in Homer, Cortland Co, NY 1815 to Loniel Bennett. This is in a source index for Cortland Co NY marriages 1800-1850 compiled by the NGS. I would like to find this book to see if the groom is also listed with parents.
Another source has been located thru the LDS, a bible that has ancestry and descendency for this line. I have been told it lists Sarah Sally Norton b.4/22/1796 as the dau of Freeman Norton and Martha Chipman.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
