Thomas
Chipchase was born ibn the north east. At sometime he went to
Sheffield probably for work where he met and married
Harriet Jeffreys in 1846. Thay had a daughter Jane born in 1847. After this Thomas seems to disappear. He is not with
Harriet on the 1851 census and she has reverted to her married name of
Jeffreys. He might have been living with someone called
Isabella or Mary in 1851 at Dawsons
Court, Newcastle upon
Tyne. He had a brother James who also married a
Sheffield girl and he was in the north east in 1851 with his wife and child at Thornly Village, County
Durham. He had moved back to
Sheffield by the 1861 census and stayed there for the rest of his life. Can anyone help.
