Carolyn,
There is a smallprivate Cheshier cemetery in
Fayette County, IL near Vandalia. I have a
handwritten copy of some old Cheshier memories.
The story begins in the early 1800's when James
D. Cheshier, who was 8 yrs. old at the time,
moved to Fayette County, IL with his parents,
Jonathan and ??? Later, his parents went down
to live in Arkansas, while James stayed in IL
and married Nancy. etc. They had 14 children
or so...maybe Oscar was one of them! Contact
me at clhart@ibm.net if you want more info.
about this branch of the Cheshiers.
