I am interested in your Cherry -- Bond line. Perhaps it is a coincidence but my
grandmother' s maiden was Elsie Bond Cherry. The Bond as a middle name
came from her maternal grandmother who was:

Elsey Bond Rees, who m. William S. Allen. - 10 April, 1837 Elsey's parents were
Daniel Rees and Elizabeth Bond m. 1790 in MD. - I have searched for Elizabeth's parents.

Elsie Bond Cherry's father was Lyne S. Cherry 1837-1918 b. in Ohio d. in Texas
Lyne's father was Thomas Cherry 1815-1896 b. in Muskingum Co Ohio d. Clark Co. MO
I have more Cherry family information if this is your line.

Marion Jenkins Daly

My gg grandfather George Hall married a Margaret Cherry in 1847 in Killyman, County Tyrone, her father was Robert Cherry, George Hall's father was Moses Hall. George Hall was born in Copney Townland, Armagh. Margaret Cherry was born in Derryhirk County. The only child they had I know of is my g grandfather Thomas William Hall married to Mary Jane Marshall. They had 8 children, my grandfather was Moses Hall (aka Thomas Joseph Hall). My grandfather's 1st wife Sarah Ann Davidson (died 1923) immigrated 1st to PA before coming to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. At my grandfather's funeral was Robert & Thomas McCready cousins of my grandfather? Is there a connection?

I'm looking for any information about my uncle, Edward Cherry, born c1907 Acton. Middlesex. His mother was Ellen Jane Fitzjohn nee Cherry, he was the step-son of Thomas Fitzjohn (ref:1911 census were they lived in Wandsworth). Ellen Jane died 1921 and Edward and his three brothers are believed to have been taken in by Barnardos Homes but I don't know which one or where.

Amazing! I'm descended from Winifred's sister Louisa Jane, and I just found her GRO marriage reference numbers two days ago. I've ordered the certificate, but now here is all this information! If jlog_1 has any further information on the Mesney family besides what I will find in the Totnes records, I would be most appreciative.

I hope to find where Louisa Jane was born. She married Richard Louis Murrow in 1853 in Totnes. Per family history, she had four chidren who all died at one time, and then she had eleven more. I've found the eleven, but would love to know about the first four. She died 10 Aug 1878 in Belfast.

There is a lot of information about the Mesney family. Volunteers in Alderney have kindly made available a family tree going back to Pierre Mesney, born 1614, a gggggg-grandfather of Winifred and Louisa. I also have some information about the Mesney families in England and Ireland. I will try and get it into shape suitable for posting.

Louisa Jane Mesney was baptised in Weymouth on 15 November 1829. A Richard Lewis Murrow, an accountant aged 65, widower, died of apoplexy on 1 December 1898 at 17 Cliftonville Avenue, Belfast. I presume this was her husband.
