Searching for any information about the parents and other ancestors of James Cullen Cherry. Apparently, he appears for the first time on census records during the year 1880. I cannot locate him on a census prior to that one. Supposedly, he was born at or around Obion Station in TN.

James married (1st) Nannie Susan Trammell 10 Mar 1879 at Fort Smith, AR. They had the following children:

Ulphin Dennis Cherry
William Ocie Cherry
Otto Cherry (died at 22 years)
James Cullen Cherry, Jr. (died in infancy)
David Crockett Cherry
Luther Cherry (died in infancy)
Elmer Cherry

All of the children but Ulphin were born in or around Paw Paw, Cherokee Nation (later Sequoya County, OK). Ulphin was born in Mansfield, AR.

James married (2nd) Emma Sarah Walker 04 Jul 1907 and raised Emma's four children by a previous marriage:

Anna Melsena Taylor
Ellen Agatha Taylor
Laura Etta Taylor
Allie Bell Taylor

James may have been married to another woman in between Nannie and Emma.

I have hit a brick wall with this one. Anyone ever heard of this guy? Help!
