Welcome to the CHALLENOR surname list. I am new to genealogy and new to these message boards, but it seems there is a need to create a specific message board for CHALLENOR. At least from about 1820 onwards it seems that within my (embryonic) tree at least the spelling is generally distinctive from the other derivatives such as CHALLENER, CHALLINER, CHALLINOR, CHALLONER etc

As you can see one son of Richard Challenor emigrated to Australia and I am already in contact with them, but the other descendents of Richard, excluding my immediate family (from John Roland EVANS), remain a (as yet) largely unnamed mystery who are thought to be at large probably in Staffordshire and Warwickshire, particularly (but not exclusively) Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
