Surnames: Challenor
Hi,
not sure if my Challenors are related to yours. They begin with William who had the following children
Richard born Stafford about 1819
Enoch and Martha.
My line of descent comes through Richard.
The family were hawkers and lived for a time at least in Hyde, Cheshire.
The name Richard Challenor and the Stafford origin suggest there could be some link.
Richard had at least 3 children Simeon, Enoch and Mary.
Simeon moved about and lived for a time in Smethwick, Birmingham and there is a Wolverhampton link. One of Simeon's children was also called Roland which appears to be a name used in your family. If you have any comments I would love to hear them.
Jean
