I recently purchased a bunch of old photos. One of the photos shows a young man, and is labeled on the back "Jim Chaffin, weight 137 lbs". This photo was taken at a photo studio in Oxford Nebraska (Furnas County), likely during the early 1900s. I wonder why the writer recorded weight versus age? Maybe someone will recognize their ancestor.
