My gg-grandfather, George Chace, (born around 1841) was a tug boat engineer in New York City from 1850-1875. He lived in Greenwich Village, married Jane Hines (a Canadian) and had lots of kids. If anyone has any information on either the Chace family (we think they came from Wales), Hines Family or the early tug boat industry in NYC I would appreciate any help.
