Indian Tribes in Kamloops, BC, Canada

Classification: Query
Surnames: Lindberg
Frances "Fanny" Mabel Lindberg lived in Kamloops, BC. between 1913-1930 and one of her children - Marion Edith Lindberg - my Aunt told me "if only we had stayed on the Indian Reservation we would of been better off". We have been told that we are "Iriquoi, Mohawk Nation of the Turtle Clan. Her children's names are Clayton, Marion, Avard, Margery, Shirley and Delnor June Lindberg. Fannie was one-forth Indian and her mother Phoebe Catherine Kate Hammond/Bassett b 1844 was half Indian and was from New York.

In Marion's journals she mentioned her family being cared for by Indians in the Kamloops area. They called him "The Meat Man" or Mr Beivens and he was a very good friend to this Lindberg family.

I am looking for any info on friends who knew them or any of the Indian tribes in the Kamloops area.

Thank your,

Linda Marshall
