On a bench near the summit of the Aksla hill in Alesund, Norway, is a small plaque that says:

"Flying Officer
Wilson ("Johnny") Ceybird.
Killed in Action at Alesund on
17th March 1945. Aged 25 years.
A very brave and very gentle
Englishman."

Lest we forget.

I have just had a holiday in Norway and found and photographed this plaque. Very moving but in a wonderful location.
