Margaret Ceurremans (nee Ross), died December 1966, according to SSDI last lived Ocean Grove, NJ, USA. She was my grandmother Katie Ann Ross's sister and had emigrated from Scotland either just before or after WW1. Would like any information on her husband, what his name was, if they had children, where he was from originally, what they did when they settled in the USA. Thank you.

Mr. Jones

My grandson spotted your message dated 28.8.2012. I'll be glad to help you with the requested information. For the moment I will keep to essentials , but there also exists a rather extensive Ceurremans family tree.
My uncle was born as Eduard Ceurremans on 28.6.1890 in B 2800 Mechelen ( or Malines in french ) as the 5th child of finally 10 then surviving brothers and sisters . The father was Petrus Ludovicus Ceurremans 21.09.1854-16.03.1938 , mother Paulina Van Humbeeck 26.09.1860-01.05.1944. Eduard died on 04.04.1959 in New Jersey/ USA. Most of the clan lived in Belgium , as I also do , but he emigrated to the USA at some time. In the Belgian registers he is listed as ( I translate from Flemish ) " post office clerk Red Line Star , docker ". The latter seems a little bit old , given his family background. My father= his brother , told me that Eduard worked as a steward on the Red Star Line ( Antwerp to New York ? ) . I have a photograph showing him in uniform aboard a ship. Another photograph of his wife Margret, may taken mid or end 1930's, bears a short text at the back " Nov 9 " and announcing their marriage on the 22nd of August , no year metioned.
Could you confirm receipt of present message , and , if known , exact dates of birth and death of Margaret Miller ( and/or ) Ross? ) and how you happen to be related to her ? I seem to remember a mention of New Zealand on one of the internet messages , but Margaret came from Scotland ?
Actual communications will be running through my grandson Tim's e-mail address as I've only just acquired computer and internet and doubt if I ever will be fluent enough with the medium. And please don't mind my interpretation of the English language.
I will be glad to hear from you soon .

Hi
I do not know if Tui (my cousin) replied to your post. Margaret ROSS (baptised Murray Margaret McKay ROSS) is our great aunt. I have quite a bit of detail regarding the family. I also have a couple of photos - one of Margaret (Maggie) and one of Edward taken in Central Park, New York. Margaret married a Donald MILLER in London in 1914. He died in 1926. If you would like more detail please email me at maggierippey@bigpond.com This sign on for ancestry belongs to my brotherinlaw.
Regards
Maggie

Sorry, I have just read your complete reply to my original question and you have given me alot of information. I am not very competent on the computer and rushed in to replying before I read the whole thing.
Margarets sister was Katie and she was my grandmother. I know the family did come to New Zealand from Scotland and then Margaret moved to America where she met Eduard. The sisters were:
Evelyn Barbara Bain Ross 1884 - 1953, died in Christchurch, N.Z. Married William Charlesworth 13 Feb 1908, died 27 June 1953, Christchurch, N.Z.
Murray Margaret Mackay Ross born 8 Nov. 1885, married Eduard, died 5 Dec 1966, USA.
Katie Ann Spark Ross born 16 August 1887, married Eduard Henry Newman 8 March 1910, died 21 Sep 1968, N.Z.
Their parents were James Burnett Ross 1856-1886, Margaret Sutherland Mackay 1858 - 1890, they were married in Scotland in 1882.
I have a photo of the three sisters when they were young and I could scan it to you if you are interested. Thank you for your help.
