NILES – Anna Altobelli, 93, died at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Home in Niles, Ohio.
She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Naples, Italy, the daughter of Ciro and Concetti Giordano Cesareo.
Anna was employed at Kings Department Store in Niles as a sales clerk for 17 years, retiring in 1980, and was also a self-employed seamstress.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, enjoyed cooking, and was a loving grandmother.
Her husband, Angelo S. Altobelli, whom she married Aug. 19, 1945, died March 2, 1999.
She will be deeply missed by son, Jerry Altobelli and his wife, Sheri, of Niles; two daughters, Marie Furlong of Niles and Connie Snyder and her husband, Henry, of Niles; 10 grandchildren, Edward D. Furlong, Steven A. Furlong and his wife, Becky, Tracey L. Maughan and her husband, Dan, Kevin Snyder and his wife, Leslie, Shawn Snyder and his wife, Lindy, Jason Altobelli and his wife, Jackie, Ryan Altobelli and his wife, Christa, Laura Altobelli, Mark Altobelli and his wife, Maria, and Greg Altobelli and his wife, Lisa; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Altobelli and his wife, Ellen; a son-in-law, Edward Furlong; a grandson, Brian Snyder; and three brothers, Michael Cesareo, Vincent Cesareo, and Ciro Cesareo.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., today, at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home for their care given to Anna.
Arrangements are being handled by the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
