My great-grandmother was Anna Cesar, born November 1, 1871
in Trebnje, Yugoslavia, died September 8, 1930
in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a governess for
the children of John Posch (first wife, Mary
died in childbirth). Later married John Posch and went
on to have 6 children of her own, one of
which was my grandmother. I'm new to
genealogy. Nothing is known of her. My
grandmother is deceased (1978), but has two
living sisters, neither of whom know anything
about their mother's family -- siblings,
parents, etc. If this helps, maybe we have a
match. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.

HI, I am Hortensia Cesar and I am writing to you because we (me and my close relatives) are trying to learn more about the history of our last name. Actually we've been able to contact over 150 people an we are all going to get together in may of this year in a small town near Mexico City.
Write to me and tell me about your family, the Cesar's we have reached are all somewhere in Mexico but I think we all come from the same geniological tree since there aren't many people with this last name. Hope to hear from you soon. Bye.

Hi, Hortensia. Here's what I know about the name Cesar itself. In French, Cesar means emperor. (In Spanish, too?) In fact, the Roman emperor we in English-speaking countries call Julius Caesar is in France called Jules Cesar. The names/titles Cesar, Kaizer (German, of course), and Czar (Russian, of course) are all derived from the Roman title Caesar. If you would like to hear correspond more about this, please write to me at RCesar@Hotmail.com. Best regards, Ron

I just started researching my grandfathers family and saw your old posting.
My grandfathers sister Edna Mordick married Raymond Clarence Kuether around April 1933. Raymond was born around 1910. The 1930 census shows he lived with his parents Ferdinand and Augusta Kuether. Edna was from Lake Elmo, Minnesota. The only other information on this couple is three children Richard, Caroll, Merlin.
Edna's siblings were Sophia, Erma, and William.
Would appreciate any information you have if this is a match. I have information on the Mordick family back to Germany 1650.

Forgive me, but when you Dominican, do you mean The Dominican Republic or the Commonwealth of Dominica. My family is from the Commonwealth of Dominica and I descend from the Ceasar family. Do you have any other information on the Ceasar/Cesar blood line? Any information that you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
