Hello. My husband's grandmother was Mary Cesanek who emigrated from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900's. Her dad had emigrated earlier but only to work and save a "fortune", and later returned to his homeland and his wife. Mary Cesanek married John Varhol (Varholy) in Connecticut and settled in New Britain where they raised 8 children. I do not have the dates and other names handy at the moment, but I would love to contact with you and perhaps fine mutual family. My E-Mail is dkozov@yahoo.

Hello! I believe that you and my husband may be related. My mother-in-law's mother was Maria "Mary" M. CESANEK. She was b: 19 May 1886 Krieg, Austro-Hungary, now Vojnany, Czech. She emigrated to Philadelphia (I believe) and lived with at least one brother. Her dad came to this country to work so he could live "like a rich man" when he returned to his wife in their home country.

She later married John Ivan Varhol about 1910 in New Britain, Conn. They lived in New Britain and had 8 children including my mother-in-law, Betty. "Mary" lived in New Britain until she passed away on Jan 1, 1957.

I am hoping that we can be in touch. You can E-Mail me at dkozov@yahoo.com

I am just getting into this family tree. I know you may have posted this about 11 years ago but, I only saw it now. I was trying to find out who my great gradfather was when I came across your posting---I am John A Cesanek from North Catasauqua, Pa. Your great grandfather John Cesanek was my Grandfather which would have been my father Emil W. Cesanek father from cementon, Pa---your grandmother "Anna" was my fathers sister and my aunt.

I have more info but, didn't want to get into details unless you need them. I have included some pictures which includes my dad Emil your Grandmother Anna and your great grandfather John Cesanek with three kids in front of him which was taking in the big house we lived in on hillside avenue in cementon pa...

John A Cesanek

my great grandfather, Andrew, and his father, Andrej, were Czech. when looking through the records we found that Andrej was born in Kreig (so that was part of austria hungary and that's why i could never find kreig when i looked for it?) they came over in the late 1800s and traveled a few times back and forth to the US at ellis island. perhaps mary was his sister?! Andrej had children and did travel back and forth and they settled down in northampon, pa. he was a farmer. Andrew was a farmer, he bought farmland in northampton that my family still has. Andrej passed away of heart problems in the 50's in northampton. andrew passed away in the 80's in northampton. i'm his great granddaughter.
