I am currently doing research on my family and came across your post from 2010. This may be old news to you, but one of my relatives name is Mary Rose Statuto who moved in with her half-sister and family in Pepperell, Massachusetts some time before 1920. Both sisters were born in Lowell, Massachusetts and their father's name is Peter Statuto. Peter was born in Italy abt. 1855 and immigrated to the US abt. 1881 (New York) and shows up in Lowell the same year. Mary Rose Statuto was born 12 November 1896. She is abt. 25 years old when she moves in with her sister Amelia (Statuto) Gilman in Pepperell. Based on my research, Mary Rose may have been pregnant when she moved in with Amelia. I cannot find her past 1920, and Amelia and her family continue to live in Pepperell until at least 1940's. I believe Mary Rose Statuto may be your grandfather's birth mother. Peter Statuto (Jr.) shows up in Boston as a Ward of the State of Massachusetts living with the family of John and Ellen Daley in the 1930 US Cenus Boston (Districts 251-500), Suffolk, Massachusetts. Peter apparently is adopted by the Daley family and changes his name to Peter Daley. I believe his birth date is 11 June 1920 and he died 11 July 2004 at age 84. I also believe Peter's SS# is 015-16-4475. I hope this information is useful and I would appreciate any information on Mary Rose Statuto after 1920. Best, Ed McLaughlin
