Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
I am seeking relatives and/or friends who may know or might have known Larry Cera or any of his family. He was from New Jersey and resided in California in the early 60's and possibly Florida in the 80's.

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
Hi Erokc33radd Unfortunately, I do not know if he is related to Dante Cera. I do believe Larry's father was from Italy and Larry had/has a brother that may have been named Bobby. Larry also had a son. The history I have is vague at best. I was hoping to find someone who knew more. I do know that they resided in the Hackensack area, probably in the 1950's or 1960s. Could Dante be related? How old was Dante when he resided in NJ or what approximate years was he there? Thanks so much for your inquiry.

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
I assume this is the Loreto Cera who lived in Kinnelon for some years until "moving" in the late 90's?

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
I am not sure. I am hoping to find someone who might have known him, his brother, mother or father. I don't have the relatives names and that is the information I need to be able to go forward with my genealogy search. I am pretty sure that it is the same person. Loreto also may have moved because he went to prison around that time. I know he was married and had two daughters. If you think this is the same person, could you possibly provide any more family information like the names of relatives?

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
Just his brother Joseph, who was a teacher (and my only familiarity with Loreto). But like I said, this is a Roman/Northern Italian family. Why have you moved from Soth American Cera's with Spanish lineage to this family? Are you seeking this particular familial heritage or just this Loreto Cera/Devito in particular?

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
Btw, is Loreto still alive? Joseph died in the early 90's from a second bout of cancer. I forget the mothers name, unfortunately.

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
I may be able to give you some more info on them. Could you tell me why you are searching for this particular person? Like I said before, you initially asked about a Cera family of Spanish descent, but now seek info only on this particular person. This seems strange. If it is really a gnology search you are after let me know. I must be honest and tell you that this seems to be directed at one person rather than heritage. Please explain.

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
I am sorry, I don't recall ever saying he was of spanish decent. He is italian decent. I am actually trying to find out his parents names and his brothers names so I can hopefully trace the family back to Italy. His parents names would be most helpful because if they immigrated to the united states I could possibly go through ellis island to find out more of where they came from. Of course this is the ideal situation and I am not sure how far I will get. I am related to him but I have never had contact with him or his family. I have lots of information on Loreto but I don't know how to contact him. I have had contact with old friends of his and his daughters. But their recollection is little as they did not grow up with him. If I could find a living relative or someone who could recall the family, then I could hopefully get enough information to work backwards. But without at least names, it is hard to trace back. I hope that helps explain my position. I would be more than willing to answer any other questions you might have if you are concerned. It is likely his parents are dead and I could also get the dates they died, if I had their names, to add to the geneology.

Re: Loreto (Larry) Cera born 1933
Thank you so much for the information you have given me thus far. Just your little information about Joseph has answered several questions I have. I am very excited to have contact with someone that actually knew someone in the family. But I am disappointed to hear that Joseph has passed away. Do you know what type of cancer he had? Do you know where he died or where he taught school? Or if he had children or ever married? I was told he was several years younger than Larry, do you know his dob or what year he was born? You mentioned that you could not remember his mother's name. By chance do you know if his parents suffered from cancer as well? Is there anything about her you could share. I have heard some stories from Larry's first wife, Leona. I have also talked with Larry's two daughters but they know only what their mother told them. I have so many questions and perhaps they are beyond the scope of normal geneology, I have never done this before and I am learning as I go. I am also a social worker and I love to hear the families stories. I find that the facts are interesting but what makes the person who they are, are the stories of their life and how they impacted the world. I am genuine in my search to find out more about the family I never got to know. Thanks again for the info you have been willing to provide thus far, it is appreciated more than you know. BTW, I only asked about Larry because he was the only one I had a name dob for, little by little I have been able to obtain another piece of the puzzle. Hopefully all these pieces will make a wonderful picture.
