Hi, I have no real info for you but thought you might like to know that my Great Grandfather was a Cendrowski, therefore my grandmother and her 3 sisters and brother were also Cendrowski. Joseph, I think was his name. Only because his son was Joseph. What do you think? Could it be the same person? That would be cool. Do you have any information on children of Joseph or spouse?

Recently you posted a message on the Family
History.com message board regarding the above
surname. My husband is Leo James Cendroski.
We live in Fort Worth, Tx. His father was named Joseph Cendroski and lived in Wichita
Falls, TX. Joseph was born in Ohio. His parents were Ike Cendroski (Cendrowski) and
Zofia Goleka. They came over from Warsaw Poland. I have just started reseaching the
family tree and have not gotten too far.
Ignatz was born in 1866 and Zofia was born
5/8/1870. Joseph was born 10/11/1888 in
Cleveland, Ohio. He served in WWI. I only
know of his brother named John.
Hope we can relate to each other.

Pauline,
I am going to ask my mother about this. What I do know is that my mothers great grandfather, whom she did not know, was divorced from her great grandmother when her grandfather was a child. There is actually a story that her grandfather (they called him Giagi)walked by his father on the street and would not stop to talk to him because he hated him. I am certain that its possible for him to have remarried, moved west, and had a whole other family, quite possibly with another son named Joseph. I wish her phone were not busy. I will write again when I have relayed this information to her. Elicia

I spoke to my mom and while she doesn't claim to be too familiar with her ancestry, she does know that her grandfathers father actually remarried while still in Poland. He was about 4. The story is he used to have to sleep in the barn and do the chores and when he was a little older he was put out. Typical evil step-mother stuff. So when he saw his father years later, he acted as though he were not there.

So, there may be some family connection because I don't think that Cendrowski is such a common name, even in Poland.

Hello,
My grandfather was Joseph Cendrowski and was married to Cheswava (Tessie) Cendrowski here in Philadelphia. I know that Grandmom used to write to her realatives in Poland often. She lived on Eadom Street. They had a son Joseph who was born and died at 6 months old. Could this be of whom you speak? I am not sure where in Poland thay were from though.

I am helping my stepsons with some of their genealogy.

I found their gr-gr-grandparents are Ignatz & Sophia (Golecka) Cendrowski. I have found them in the 1900 through 1930 censuses. In 1900, they were in Joliet, Illinois, and in 1910, Little Sumiaco township, Oconto Co., WI, then in 1920, in Wichita Falls, TX, and in 1930 they were in Fort Worth , TX. In the 1900 census, 5 children are listed: Georg, Mary, John, Tomas, and Clara. In 1910, the only children listed are Joseph, John, and Clara. It indicates one child had passed and I suspect it was Tomas. I also wonder if "Georg" is the same person as "Joseph" because the ages would be the same.

Anyway, Clara is the line my stepsons are descended through her first marriage to Jackson Lee Murray. She later married Elvin (or Alvin) Beale. The lived with the Cendrowskis in 1930 in Fort Worth.

If you would like to have contact with my stepson's mother, I can ask her if she would like me to pass on her email address.
