Hi Lynette, I am a Selaya but as time goes back the spelling changed, it once was spelled Celaya and the history of the Celaya name traces back to Sonora Mexico and before that to Spain. I am know married and no longer go by Selaya but if you clue me in on who you might be looking for maybe they are in the same family. thanks Kathy

The Zelaya family established itself in what is now Olancho in Honduras back in tne 1500s. There were 5 brothers led by the patriarch Francisco Zelaya who lived in Juticalpa Olancho on the banks of the river Guayape and Guayambre, they were ranchers, coffee growers and miners. The clan split up some going to Nicaragua where the more famous of the Zelayas Jose Santos Zelaya became president of Nicaragua in 1893, this person is my great grandfather. The name spelled Celaya is found in Mexico, Ihope this helps your quest a little bit, yours truly Roger Zelaya
