I am the grandson of Francesco Celano and Josephine Arminio of Bissacia, Italy. My grandparents emigrated to the US and settled in Newark, NJ, where my grandfather worked as a tailor. He and his wife had 6 children. Francesco had at least two brothers who also emigrated to the US - Luigi (Louie) and Serafino, one of whom settled in the Chicago area. Francesco, Luigi, and Serafino, also had 6 other siblings who, to my knowledge, remained in Italy...

There are many Celano's in Nicastro, Mezza Terme.. south of Italy and a couple of families in Torino.
I married a Celano and have discovered that two sisters... now deceased were not married and the children carried their mother's surname... I wonder if there is any link.

There are about 5 families (Celano) here in Melbourne, Australia.
Three brothers immigrated approximately from 1963 to 1967.
