starting a search on the cela family tree.
Father was angelo cela, wife lucy nufrio. they were from Bisaccia Italy. Angelo was born in 1896 died in 1958. Lucy Nufrio Cela born in 1908 died in 1986. Any info would help. I was told that there was a possibility that there name was once spelled CELLA.

Surnames: Cela, Cila, Chela
Hello, I am researching our Cila family line from Sortino. An alternate spelling I have found for our Cila (has an accent mark over the last letter "a"), is Cela (with accent mark), and very early in the 1600s I have seen it Chela with accent.

I am enclosing a link for you to search the civil records of births for Bisaccia, Italy, in 1898. Good luck!

If you need a translation, very helpful translation assistance can be found on two online sites: http://translate.google.com/ and http://tradukka.com/translate . On these sites you can write or paste the text that you want to be translated, and the corresponding text will be printed in the desired language. The translation may be imperfect, but can be interpreted easily.

Update: I realized I should have given you a link to 1896, and I looked but was surprised to see it was missing. There is 1895, 1897, and 1898, but 1896 is not where it should be. It may stilll be in the collection but misplaced if you look for it. Anyway, after you go to the link above, it will take you to the beginning of 1898. Then if you go to page 2615/2947 it will be at the beginning of 1897. 1895 is before that page. Unfortunately, these are not indexed records, so you will have to browse page-by-page, looking at the names in the margins.
