My great-great-grandfather Nicolangelo Cefalo was born about 1817 in Montemiletto in Avellino province in the Campania region of Italy. Nicolangelo died in Torre le Nocelle in Avellino province in 1878. His parents were Saverio Cefalo (1777-1865) and Giuseppa Sacco (1783-1870).

Nicolangelo married Maria Emmanuela Cirignano (1820-1884) in 1841 in Torre le Nocelle. Maria Emmanuela was the daughter of Angelo Cirignano (1778-1852) and Rosalia Cheche (1781-1839).

Nicolangelo and Maria Emmanuela had six children who may have survived into adulthood: Luigi Alfonso Mario, Flamenio Mario, Filomena Carmela Pasquilena, Maria Adelaide, Maria Carolina Annunziata, and Maria Luigia Cefalo.

Luigi Alfonso Mario Cefalo married Vincenzan Selvitella and they had six children: Amorosa, Amoroso, Ardita, Nicolangelo, Generoso, and Silvia.

Filomena Carmela Pasquilina Cefalo married Giovanni De Minico and they had five children: Rodolfo, Elvira, Michelina, Giorgio, and Emma.

Maria Adelaide Cefalo married Saverio Di Nuzzolo and they had four children: Michele, Pasqualina, Pasquale, and Margherita.

Maria Carolina Annunziata Cefalo married Michelangelo Vozella.

Any cousins out there?

Hello, Jeffrey

My son in law Matthew Vozzella's great great grandmother was Maria Carolina Annunziata Cefalo, daughter of Nicolangelo Cefalo and Maria Emmanuela Cirignano. Maria Carolina married Michelangelo Vozella in 1884 in Torre le Nocelle and shortly afterward they both emigrated to New York City. I'm trying to locate a copy of their marriage act to determine the names of Michelangelo's parents. I noticed in your tree that you referenced the number of their marriage act as #8 for 1884 and was wondering if you had a copy of this since the act will contain Michelangelo's birthplace and parents' name. Census records indicate that Carolina and Michelangelo had 8 children but I have only been able to locate names for 6 of them--daughters Frances, Celia and Julia and sons Phillip, Charles and Joseph.

Since my tree is private, I can send you an invite if you'd like to view it.

Best,
John Bifano

Jeffrey

I am searching my husband's family for more information. We are aware of a Tomaso (Thomas) 1867-1919Cefalo (Chefalo) that married Vicenza Galluci (1879-1946). Born in Italy we believe in Torre Le Nocelle but died in Peekskill, New York. I am having much difficulty tracking his parents or his wife's' parents. Wondering if it might be related to those you listed
