Cheri, I am researching Cearns in Canada. My grandmother had a brother William, John, Robert etc. They crossed the US/Canadian border many times. Harriet was born 5-1901, she was the daughter of Robert Cearns and Mary(?). I am waiting for a family member to
varify further info.

I think your Robert may be a brother to my Clarinda Cearns who married William McKee. I found a Robert Cearns b. 11 Febuary, 1854 m. (1) Mary Ellen--- (2) Mrs. Christina Ellen Ellis. Have you tried the Graves family web site??? It is: www.gravesfa.org/gen065.htm You have to scroll way down to the Cearns families. It tells the Stevens/Cearns connection. Hope this helps. Only just seen your message. "John" seems a regular Cearns name. My late father was John and the family tree I received from another branch of the family here in UK is headed by a John in 1750!
The Cearns came from Ireland. It is a Celtic name I believe.
I guess all Cearns have a common thread way back. Do you have any knowledge of your ancestors
