The obituary for Sean Glen CEARLOCK (1982 – 2010) of Nakomis, Illinois, who died May 25, 2010, can be found at the following site:
http://www.thejournal-news.net/articles/2010/05/27/obituarie...I show Sean’s lineage as follows:
Hans Peter GERLOCH/GERLACH
David GERLACH/CARLOCK
Frederick (possibly Cornelius) CARLOCK/CARELOCK
David CARLOCK (One of the original land owners for the original 26-acre parcel of land on which Concord, NC, was built.)
George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK (His wife Rachel LANDERS was born in 1783, and therefore probably too old to have been the biological mother of Henry. George was living in Henry’s household on the 1860 census, P.O. Irving, Montgomery Co., IL, page 303, household 2179, family 2188;
ftp://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/il/montgomery/18.... Since George had several children and grandchildren living in the area with whom he could have lived, it seems very likely that Henry was a very close relative such as a son or grandson. Did Rachel have a child at approximately age 48? Likewise, who were the parents of Catherine CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1830, KY, who m. Isom TABOR, 1847, Madison Co., IL, and George W. DOWNS, 1853, Fayette Co., IL?)
unknown CARLOCK (?), b. NC. (Re: 1900 census, Hurricane Township, Fayette Co., IL, supervisor's district 12, enumeration district 15, sheet 15B, enumerated June 27, 1900, dwelling 309, family 310, stating father of Henry CEARLOCK b. NC. However, note that all of George and Rachel’s children are believed to have been born in Kentucky. George and Rachel were both born in North Carolina. They married in Warren Co., KY.) Can anyone verify the names of Henry’s parents?
Henry Alexander (or William Henry) “Henry” CARLOCK (1831 – 1902)
John Franklin CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, Sr.
Charles Burton “Charlie” CEARLOCK
Darrell B. CEARLOCK
Gary CEARLOCK

Please note that since my genealogy program no longer allows me to make updates to the reports on my home page, I am looking at different options and may be removing the GERLACH report from my home page in the near future.
