Looking for my ggf W.R. Cearley born in VA. unknown date. He was married to Matilda Davis. They had two sons that we know of Robert Newton and George Henry. They came to Texas in the late 1800. W. R., Matilda and Robert Newton (My gf) are buried at Fairview close to Decatur, Wise Co. TX. George Henry is buried at Slidell, Wise Co. TX. Robert Newton was first married to Rebecca Davis, she passed away in 1899. Later he married my gm Catherine Coffman. Would appreciate any help.
Thank you
Joyce

Two gg aunts married Cearleys from Miss. Dread and Elisha. Dread md 2nd Mary Caroline Hellums in Arkansas. They were in Parker Co in 1880 and then we lose them, moved to Okla we think. Elisha married Adeline Hellums. Any of these names ring a bell.

My mom is a Cearley by birth. Her mother's name was Mary (Hitt)Cearley born around 1902 and her father's name was Clyde Cearley. I don't know much about her family. My mom's name is Jimmie. I know that part of her family had lived in Oklahoma at some point. If you have anymore names or dates, please e-mail me, maybe I can ask my mom some questions for you. Good Luck!

poppy7020, you may want to e-mail Mary Lou Emerson. Duke194@aol.com. She is a direct Cearly descendant (Dread and Mary Caroline) and y'all can see if you connect anywhere.

Yes, these Cearley names ring bells.
My sister corresponded with Ethel Cearley Cash about 20 years ago on this Cearley line. Newton Cearley was my gg grandfather, Larkin Cearley was my step gg grandfather. Will be glad to help if I can. Do you have a date and place of marriage of Elizabeth Brown to Larkin Cearley?
Thank you -

Paula,
Yes this is the same Newton Cearley. I am glad to hear from you again. We e-mailed a few times back in January about Newton. Have more information on this family than I had in January. Be glad to share. He (Newton) died on 15 Nov, 1905 in Douglas Co. MO.
