Classification: Query
Surnames: Hazlitt, Hazlett, Hazelette, Cazalet, Caslett, Lundgren, Ferrell
In tracing my gggrandfather, John A. Cazalet/Caslett, I found that he married a second time late in life to Sophie Lundgren. John A. died in 1905. In the 1910 Census in Brooklyn, NY, Sophie Lundgren is living next door to Samuel B. Hazlitt (b. abt. 1847), his wife Lottie R, and his children: John (b. abt. 1890 and Vernonica (b abt. 1892). Samuel's work in 1900 and 1910 was janitoring.
Samuel could be the son of John A. Cazalet (perhaps he couldn't read or write, thus Hazlitt). Samuel was born in NY as were his parents. In 1878, a Samuel Caslett attended Tin (furnace) Maker's ball in Brooklyn with John Caslett and his son, Nathaniel. John A.'s first wife was Mary Jane Ferrell, by whom he had 12 children (perhaps 13).
Sophie Lundgren (born 1853, Sweden), in 1910 had three daughters living with her: Katie or Katlin (born NY), Rosalie (born 1885, NY) and Agha? (born 1887, NY)
In the 1850 Census, I found Samuel B. Hozlet, 3, living with the Robert Gilly family in Newtown, Queens. There is one other Hazlet in Newtown in 1850. His name is David, but I don't know of any Davids in my family at that time.
John A. was born in NY about 1830. He was a food steward, restaurant owner, cook, carver in various Census in varous Census. His father was born in NJ and his mother in Ireland.
I believe the Cazalet/Caslett family are descentants of Noel Cazalet, a Huguenot refuge, who came to NY in 1702 from southern France.
I wonder if there are any relatives of John or Vernonica out there? Or anybody else that can tie any of this together.

Veronica Hazlett married Andrew Fromen, a clerk in the post office in Brooklyn, NY, in about 1914. They had two children: Dorothy, born 1915, and Veronica, born 1917, both in NY. Veronica and her brother, John, were both born in New Jersey according to the 1920 Census. They lived with Veronica's parents (Samuel and Lottie) at 326 Sixth Ave., in Brooklyn. Andrew died between 1920 and 1930. I would like to contact their decendants.
