Hi, I am new to this message board. I enjoyed reading the messages on the Cathro family. My husband's grandmother was a Cathro. She was madeleine cathro born in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. Her father was John Cathro who had a farm in Brechin Scotland. We went there for another family reunion and I saw Stracathro and the hospital. His father was Alexander Cathro married to Elizabeth Webster. They had several children. We have been to Canada to do some research on them. We went to the cemetery there. I am interested in any info anyone is interested in sharing.

If your dates there are a little off, there is a chance that Mrs. Cathro from Dundee might be my grandmother, Christina Cathro! I know she came from Dundee, and I believe she came here in 1913. I'm sorry I don't have much more information at the moment.

I attended a small Cathro family gathering over the summer in Canada as there are many Cathro relations up there. My father, Tom Cathro, is the son of Robert Cathro (who married Christina), his cousins, aunt, and their kids were there.

I have an Alexander Cathro married to Janet Thomson. Their son Alexander was married to Margaret Miller and their son Thomas Cathro was married to Isabella McDougal. Is any of this in your family history.
