In reply to Myra's question, this is one of the muddier areas of Castleberry research. Records show there were two John Castleberrys near the same age in the NC/SC/GA area where William Castleberry and his seven sons migrated and moved around in. By process of deduction, knowing that William had three brothers, Paul, John, and Derrick, and knowing that Paul and Derrick did NOT have a son named John, the two Johns who made their way south, both two young to be John, son of Henry and brother of William, were one of them William's son, and the other his nephew, son of his brother John. The proof is not there. The older John, son of Heinrich, has some scant tracks, and still shows in PA records through 1767. He was an old man then, and very unlikely that he went South, probably died soon thereafter. My SWAG is that John's son John left to join his uncle William and cousins, settled in SC, where he unfortunately got himself killed by the Tories. Others insist it was William's son John who got killed by the Tories, and it was John's son John who was with the others in Georgia. I strongly disagree. It would be wonderful to find some scrap of primary documentation to verify this one way or another. Gene Rooks, Gotha, Fla.
