Since there are no birth dates of Miles Cary and Ariana Hill and the Chancery papers date to 1817; something is not adding up as Virginia Cary was born about 1830 at Pear Tree Hall. My grandmother, born in 1890, who lived to be 98 knew her grandparents well and she painted a portrait of Virginia Cary. I have a newpaper article about the painting which shows both of them.
