Panamaancestry, you mention Charles W Carter who married Elizabeth HOOPER. She was a daughter of Joshua Hooper, who was a son and named heir of William Hooper. Along with his mother Joicey, Joshua Hooper administered the estate of his father for many years.

You also mention Susannah MCENTIRE, b. abt. 1820, who married James S Carter in Franklin Co, GA and later moved to Cass/Bartow County.

William Hooper's will of 1815 [he died by May 1816] only named his sons and widow, not any daughters. But, there is evidence in Hooper estate and other court records to suggest one daughter of William Hooper was named Nancy, and that she was the wife of James McIntire.
James McIntyre [born 1770-80, d. 1840-50] and Nancy [b.about 1780, alive 1860] are on the 1830 and 1840 Franklin Co., GA census. By 1850, the widowed Mrs. Nancy McEntire had moved to Cass County and had sons James and Obediah McEntire in her home.
Perhaps significantly, in 1840 Franklin County before the McEntire's move to Cass/Bartow, the name immediately after that of James McEntire [sic] is "Austin D. Carter," in the 30-40 age bracket. I found Austin D. Carter aged 57 in Bartow Co., GA on the 1864 GA Militia census. He seems to have married Polly Finch. (Another daughter of the Joshua Hooper I've mentioned was Joicey Hooper, b. in the early 1820s, who married at an extremely young age to Ephraim Osborn Finch.)
When I checked WorldConnect last year, at least one file there suggested Austin D. Carter had a brother named Langford Carter, another brother being the aforementioned Charles W. Carter who had married Betsy Hooper; the file indicated that these 3 Carter men were offspring of a Thomas Carter b. 1781 VA who had married to Hicksey LANGFORD. I do not have any evidence of my own regarding the exact relationships of these Carter men, but there is a message at the old Genforum site (Carter family) from Linda Madden, message 19946, which seems relevant.

Also, there was a newspaper notice in 1843 of the sheriff's sale of 100 acres "it being the place whereon Charles W. Carter now lives; levied on as the property of Joshua Hooper, by virtue of a fi fa from the Inferior Court of Franklin County, the Central Bank of Georgia vs. Joshua Hooper, James Carter, and Thomas Carter."
Obviously, there was a lot of interaction with Joshua Hooper and some of the Carters of interest to you.

In 1850 Franklin County, the same Joshua Hooper I've mentioned above had a woman named "Hetty Langford" aged 80, living in his home. A Wyatt Langford had purchased land from William and Joicey Hooper back about 1806 and had long been a neighbor. What with the suggestions of the Carters being intertwined with Langfords/Lankfords, it may be worthwhile to note the Hooper and Langford neighborliness, too.

My question:
Do you have any idea of the ancestry of the Susannah McEntire, b. ca 1820, who married James S Carter? Was she related to James and Nancy (Hooper) McEntire of Franklin Co., who migrated to Cass/Bartow Co.?
