Adam James Carroll, age 24, a resident of Erie passed away Friday July 25, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Adam was born in Erie on January 25, 1984, the son of Emmett "Tim" and Jamie (Verno) Carroll. Adam was a 2003 graduate of Collegiate Academy and had attended Edinboro University. Born with Muscular Dystrophy,
Adam never let his handicap slow him down. He loved to travel the streets of Erie in his wheelchair and enjoyed working on his computer and visiting with friends online. He was an avid video game player who loved Guitar Hero and also was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Adam was involved with the MDA and enjoyed the times spent with his friends at MDA camp. Besides his parents, his is survived by two sisters, Valerie Carroll and Lisa McAfee and her husband Shawn, all of Erie.
He is further survived by a niece, Tiana and a nephew Tyler McAfee
along with his material grandmother, Marie Baldi. Also surviving is a special friend Kim Davis along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends
are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th &Liberty St. Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erie Shriner's Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505 or to MDA, 2810 West 21st St., Erie, PA 16506.
