Researching my wife's CARROLL family. Michael CARROLL, b. abt. 1837 in Ireland, and his sister, Catherine CARROLL, b. abt. 1830 in Ireland, were probably Irish famine immigrants to the Stacksteads/Bacup area of Lancashire. Their father's name was John CARROLL, who was deceased before 1855. Catherine CARROLL married in 1855, James FADDEN, and Michael CARROLL married in 1856, Winifred FOY (both marriages at Roman Catholic Chapel, Bacup).
Children of James and Catherine (Carroll) FADDEN:
John, b. abt. 1855, Stacksteads; m. 1884, Mary Ann HARDAKER.
Patrick, b. abt. 1858, Bacup
Winifred, b. 1859, Bacup; m. 1879, Thomas CONNOLLY.
James, b. abt. 1859, Stacksteads; m. 1892, Mary O'DONNELL.
Children of Michael and Winifred (Foy) CARROLL:
Mary, b. 1857, Stacksteads; m. 1877, John BURKE;
Sarah, b. 1859, Stacksteads
Margaret, b. abt. 1861, Stacksteads
Michael, b. 19 Aug 1864, Stacksteads; m. 1888, Catherine LEONARD.
Catherine, b. abt 1868, Stacksteads
Winfired, b. abt 1870, Stacksteads; m. 1891, Michael WALSH.
Ann, b. abt. 1872, Stacksteads
I would be interested in communicating with anyone who might have a connection to these families.
