My 3rd great grandfather was John Carrington Mallory. We believe he was born in New York, although we can find no legal records to support this. He listed New York as place of birth on censuses. We have his death notice giving his place (Astoria, Queens, New York) and date of death. We can find no information about his parents. At that time, it was common for the mother's maiden name to be used as a child's middle name. Does anyone have a Carrington female who married a Mallory male, and gave birth to John around 1807? John married Winifred Wetmore Halsey in New York in 1837, if that helps.
