Surnames: Carrington
My name is Cortland V Carrington III, a descendent of Samuel via Thomas (1782) Asa (1818) John Henry (1857) James Claude (1883) etal...

I am updating the genealogy of this Maryland branch of Carrington's. There were several branches of this family. Samuel departed Maryland in about 1804-1808 (ish) He passed in Kentucky.

Several children remained in Kentucky and there are still Carrington's remaining. From Kentucky a large portion moved to Indiana, and one or more to Missouri. Descendants of this line can still be found in Missouri and Indiana. From Indiana the family spread into Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas (as of present research in 2013.

I am extending the two following books:

The Family of Samuel Carrington 1754-1966
The Indiana Carringtons, Descendent of Thomas Carrington 1782-1997

Technically, both books are unpublished family manuscripts. Although very accurate, both books lack nearly all critical legal citations to census data, and other legal source documents.

My goal is to complete my research by 2016, and actually publish this book with a Library of Congress card number. The new book has one or more page for each Carrington, and is a much easier to follow format! Each page is cited Chicago Manual Style to one or more legal document(s) that establish proof of existence, and as much as possible family relationship and other information. The book will also contain a grave site index, and may include maps as well.

As of this time I've located several lost branches of the Carrington tree from Samuel Carrington 1754. If you are related to this line of Carringtons feel free to contact me. The more connections we can find, the better and more accurate the work will be.

If you are interested in the above two books, I have the first book in digital copy (abt 90 pages). I have a hard copy of the second book; however, I know for a fact that the author (my cousin) is now out of copies of this work.

I believe that it is available in some libraries. Be advised that his second book is not technically published, as it has no publishing information. It is a self-published family manuscript, as such, it may be challenging to get copies. Because it is several hundred pages and fully bound, it will be difficult to obtain.

I will talk to the author about obtaining electronic copies, there may be a cost for this book.

Presently I am 110 pages into the updated work, "262 Years in The Family of Samuel Carrington 1754-2016" If you are related to this family, please contact us. FYI the year 2016 was chosen because it is the 50th year after release of the 1966 work.
