Yes, records indicate that John Carrington who died 1817 Orange Co NC was a son of John Carrington Sr who died in 1803. His wife Mary is assumed to be a Pamplin by most. A son's military pension in Orange Co NC said his parents were John Carrington and Sarah Pamplin who was born in Rappahannock VA. I found John Carrington records in Caroline VA in 1749-1750. He was sued for a debt but apparently didn't show up since there was no record of the suit being settled. Caroline is in the area that was called Old Rappahannock.
