Jessica,
Charity Carrington Wells is my 5th GGM. The info I will present to you has not been substantiated to my satisfaction. Charity and Mary Carrington were sisters as I currently have in my tree, however, I am not satisfied that Charity was actually George Carrington's daughter. I could never find sources to verify her birth date (1730), birthplace (Leesburg, not founded until 1758), and family members. All records I have found for George Carrington have his first born in 1733 and that was a son, (Judge) Paul Carrington.

I have received 2 DNA hints in Ancestry.com, but they do not establish a valid connection to any person to be her father. One DNA hint places her father as George Carrington, and the second DNA hint shows his brother, Nathaniel, as her father.

So....once it is proven who her father is, if it's George, then Mary and Charity are sisters; if it's Nathaniel, then they are cousins. I'm still in the hunt to find out the correct nature of these relationships. Maybe, you can decipher any source, written or handed down by family stories, as to the proven relationship they all had.

I know this hasn't been much help......only to create more questions. My tree, if you care to peruse its contents is Walker/Hopkins in Ancestry.com
