I am looking for any information on John W. Carrico born about
1865 in New Jersey married Annie Faulkner she was born in 1871 in Virginia. They had five children. They were Herford, Ethel, Vern (my grandfather), Irvin, and Anna. My grandfather was born in Virginia in 1889 and Died in Michigan in 1963. Does anyone have any info? I would appreciate it. I can't find my grandfather on the any census. My father and grandparents on the Carrico side are deceased, so I am unable to get additional info.

I think I have found your John W. Carrico. He wasn't born in NJ, but VA Sep 1854, probably in Fauquier Co.

His wife was Anna P. (maiden name unknown) b. Jul 1860.

1900 thru 1920 the family lived in Nelson Co., VA. They had 6 children:

1. Charles Carrington Carrico b. May 6 1884. Can't locate in census 1910 or 1920. Registered for the draft 1918 in Prince George Co., VA. By 1930 married to a Cythera Woodall and living with her parents in Hudson Co., NJ (maybe your NJ recollection?)

2. Ethel Pauline Carrico b. May 1886. Eloped in NC with a Frank W. Carter Nov 17 1903. Frank died Dec 25 1908. Left her with 2 children Frank & Eugene

3. Verna Kendall Carrico b. Dec. 8 1889. Registerd for Draft 1918 in Prince George Co., VA. Married twice. First wife unknown, son Kendall born ca 1916, poss. more from first marriage. 1920 resided Genessee Co., MI, 1930 Oakland Co., MI with 2nd wife Anna Leach (?)

4. Herford Abner Carrico b. Sep 1 1892. Married Hazel V. Hammersly 1915 Nelson Co., VA. By 1920 resided in Richmond, Wayne Co., IN. His father John W. Carrico apparently died at his house 1938/39

5. Irvin Carrico b. Dec 16 1894. Married Nannie ???. 1920 resided in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH. Nephew Kendall Carrico (s/o Verna) resided with him. 1930 resided in Roanoke VA. Father John W. with him

6. Anna Carrico b. Oct 1899. Married a Tony Milloway. Resided Richmond VA. In 1930 a nephew John W. Carrico resided with the family. Same John W. Carrico who in 1920 with probable siblings Mabel E. & Charles C. listed as neices & nephews in home of John W. & Anna P. Carrico.

The younger John W. Carrico died in CA 1989. Maiden name of mother is listed as "Knight". Maybe the Mable Knight 1892-1916 buried in the Carrico plot in Nelson Co., VA
