I'm trying to identify the parents of my BRAXTON CARPENTER, b: ca. 1806, VA (prob. Lancaster Co. or nearby). BRAXTON was orphaned at a young age and was taken in by Tom Bottoms. By 1820 or so they were in Lincoln Co., TN and from there moved to AL.
