Edna Morelock Carico, 91, formerly of Monteray Ave., Kingsport, went home after an extended illness on Friday evening (Aug. 27, 2004).
She was born in Greene County on May 12, 1913. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Temple Baptist Church where she was very active and attended as long as her health permitted. A lifelong resident of Kingsport, she volunteered for over 40 years at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Luther A. Carico in 1983; her parents, Luther Morelock and Oma Light Morelock; a sister, Drexie Taylor; two brothers, Harold Morelock and Dallas Morelock.
Surviving are her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dee Kilgore of Blountville, Brenda Markley and husband James of Vero Beach, Fla., and Vicki King and husband Dale of Morristown; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Artie Nuss of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Clyde Smith of Kingsport, and Marie Hawkins and husband George of Kingsport; a brother and sister-in-law, James Morelock and wife Pauline of Kingsport; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
