Carico is the son of
Simms Carico and (2) Margaret (
Roten)
Carico. They md 1 July 1827,
Grayson Co., Va. His first wife was Rebecca
Hanks who died ca 1827. Simms died 10 May 1844,
Grayson Co., Va. Simms and Rebecca were md 23 Nov 1813,
Grayson Co., Va.
Sims and Rebecca had the following childre: Joshua K., Martin, Charlotte,Cynthia Ann and Joseph. Sims and (2) Margaret had: William G., Alexander,
Simms, Nancy, Andrew Jackson and James
Madison.

Abel Carico and (probably) Ann Kent. I believe they came from Charles,
Maryland. Abel
Carrico is the sone of
Abel Carrico and Elizabeth
Sims. That is where the Sims/Simms name came from in this family. Carl
Clark, whose wife sent me this information is descended from
Abel and Ann Carico's son William
Carico. he was a Methodist minister in Grayson/Carroll Counties, Va. William md Jane Taylor but no marriage record has been found for them

This was great information for me as the Commadore
Carico we are speaking about came on a cattle drive to the
Shelby,
North Carolina area and remained here as a young man never returning to his family as far as we know. He stayed in the
Shelby area and married a local girl, Annie Barrett
Carico and they had 5 sons:John, James, Monroe, George Marvin "Bud", and Samuel Commadore. One daughter: Annie. Monroe is my grandfather on my Mother's side of the family.
