Lydia Franz Carhart or Lydia Franz

For the past few days, I have found myself laboring over which Lydia married my ancestor John Compton, 1730-1778. I have read he married Lydia Franz, the widow of Robert Carhart, and had, at least, the daughter Amy. Lydia already came into the union with a daughter by her first husband Robert. However, what perplexes me is most of the family trees have John Compton marrying a Lydia Franz Carhart with the birthdate of Robert Carhart's daughter, August 30th of 1732. Being that the 1732 year matches better with John Compton's birth year of 1730 (I realize he could have married a Lydia Franz born in 1713, but it seems unlikely), I find myself wondering if he actually married the daughter of Robert Carhart, rather than the widow. To complicate matters further, one of the three U.S. and International Marriage Records I have attached to Lydia Franz is accompanied with the daughter 1732 birthdate - but only in the Facts and Sources mode. Does anyone have any insight into this conundrum I've drifted into so more certainty can be found?
