I did a transcription and translation of the document containing the stories of Sebastien's courtship and his departure for America in my Gockley book, pp. 91-95. There is also a lot of useful information about names and families in a section called "Ban de la Roche," pp. 71-75, following some historical background, photos, and maps.

The book is called The Descendants and Ancestors of Samuel Carpenter Gockley 1859 - 1940 (as Beverly J. Cayford, in 1994). It has a whole lot more information about the ancestors, including maternal lines. I am trying to get it online somehow, but in the meantime it's at the Library of Congress and the D.A.R. Library (Washington, DC), the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society (Lancaster, PA), and the LDS library (Salt Lake City, UT).
