I am looking for information on Alfred Caouette, married to Victoria Montreuil and father of Hector Caouette (born aug 14, 1911)I know that he was 38 years old at the time of his son's birth so that puts his birthday sometime around 1873.

Algonquin Montroys/Montreuil
I may have a g-grandmother who was a Native American. Her name was Henriette or Elizabeth Montroy, b. 1814. She married a Jean-Olivier St.Amant and I'm pretty sure she is not part of the Sedilot dit Montreuil clan. Please let me know if you've found anything on this Montroy family since your message from last year. You can e-mail me at santamoor@earthlink.netThanks! Greg Santamoor

Wasn't Alfred Caouette's father the machinist, Joseph Caouette of Greenville NH who lived to his eighties and had one previous wife?
|
My grandfather was Alfred Caouette, son of a Joseph Caouette. He was born March 25, 1894 in Biddeford, Maine I believe, and died March 25, 1939 in Chelsea, Mass. He was married to Marie Louise Martel. I don't know where they were married, but my grandmother was from St Hyacinth. If anybody has information, let me know. His brother Joseph lived in Rollinsford NH with his wife Ida.

Hector Caouette, Homer Caouette (Gaouette)
My grandmother born in 1933 says she had cousins in Waterloo, Quebec (near St. Hyacinthe) named Homer and Hector who were at least 10 years older than her. They could have been the sons of a Joseph Caouette/Gaouette from my family, who later went to Holyoke, MA and made cigars. I think Homer and Hector stayed in Canada. Do you think these are the same people? Was there a Homer with your Hector?

Re: Algonquin Montroys/Montreuil
Hi Greg, I'm part of the Sedilot/Montroy family. I can't figure much of it out. I only made it back to my g-g-grandparents, Eli Montroy, Sr and Elizabeth LaLonde. Familiar? Teresa Montroy Burch

Re: Algonquin Montroys/Montreuil
I am also part of the Sedilot/Montroy clan. I have a second or third cousin who has done alot of research which I hope to load up soon. My Uncle Clare Montroy's (dob 10/18/1915)middle name was Eli. I am looking for the history of my paternal g'mother, Mary Montroy (LaPointe) also.
