My grandmother Sarah Frances McShane was born and baptized in Brooklyn, NY in 1894 at the Transfiguration RC Church. Her parents were Michael McShane and Margaret Grant McShane. Her godparents/sponsors were Frances Grant and James Canning. I was hoping that descendents of James Canning might have some info on the Grants and McShanes. Perhaps Frances and James were even married. Let me know if this rings true to any Cannings.
