I must have the smallest Canale family, my father and Grandfather, both born in Casteldaccia, Sicily and named Salvatore. They came with my Grandmother Rose, who was adopted (that's the reason I think I can't go futher back)and settled in Brooklyn, they had 3 children, Edward and Josephine Canale Arena. The Canale name in my family ends with my brother who never had kids. That's why all the 4 Canale women keep the Canale name as our middle name, the Arena part we haven't spoken too, There's always one in the family lol

I have a lot of information on the Canale's of Casteldaccia. My grandmother, Antonina Canale came to the US in 1907 from there and stayed the remainder of her life. She did have a brother, Salvatore, but not the one that was your grandfather, but I am sure we could figure this out. I still keep in touch with the Canale's in Casteldaccia and they are on Facebook. Do you still need help?

My father, Carlo De Paolo came here from Casteldaccia with an "Uncle Salvatore Canale"
They settled in Brooklyn. He Salvatore was married to an Antoinette. My father was only 9
when he arrived at EllisIsland. , According to the manifest, there was also Giyseppa Canale. My father was an orphan, not sure of anything else. Oh, and there was a Patricia Canale from Brooklyn also.j
