Looking for Canale's from Tonezza del Cimone, Vicenza, Italy. My great- grandparents, Domenico Canale (b. 7/13/1885) and Felicita Canale (b. 3/4/1887), were born and raised there. Came to Canada, then NYC 1915. I know the family in the states, but would like to find links to family in Italy. Thanks for any infomation.

Hello:
I live in Australia and am a son of Nicola Canale, who emigrated after WW2. I'm sure we are distant relatives. My grandfather on my dad's side, was also Nicola, born in 1854, died in 1919, and spent 6 years in the USA before returning to Tonezza, as many did. Nicola's wife was Filomena, who had two brothers, both of whom emigrated to Argentina in the early 1900's. Also, my mother's grandmother (Rosa) was a Dalla Via. I'm guessing maybe our grandparents were cousins or some such. I can certainly give you details of my family tree back several generations on both sides, and give information about the Canale's who live in Australia. And I've been to Tonezza several times. I'm happy if you want to make contact and discuss further. Cheers. Serge

My grandparents, Giovanni Battista Canale and Caterina Canale immigrated to Crystal Falls, MI in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan from Tonezza, Italy in the early 1900's.
