Anyone, anywhere in the world who could give me any information about my grandmother's surname, Cané (It's with an accent on the E, it's not the same thing as cane !!!!)Please let me know. They told me once it was a Spanish, French or Bulgarian surname of Jewish origins. Has anyone got more specific infos about it? Im waiting for any news and I'll answer to anyone. See you! KLA

Hello Mary,
thanks a lot for your message concerning
the Cané side of your ancestors.
I'm only answering to it now thaht I'm back
to Italy and I have more time to have a look
at everything. Do you actually know more
about the origins of the Cané surname?
You said your great-grandmother's surname
was Cané-Marrone.Was it her maiden or bride
name, and, apart from that, have you maybe
ever heard of old French or Catalan origins
of this surname? Please, let me Know also, also
at my e-amil: claudia_kowski@yahoo.com.
And many many thanks for your reply, you're the only
one who gave me a sign!
I hope we'll write to each other again!!!
Ciao, bye!!!!Claudia

Classification: Query
I understand the surname Cané originates from the Spanish-French border area. However, I've never heard about any possible Jewish origins. I know my Cané ancestry goes back to the late 1800's in Cuba, but I haven't found anything else beyond that. I don't know if this will help. Thanks.
