Hello, everyone . . . I'm working on my husband's family of stubborn Scots. =o) I've hit a brick wall and am hoping someone here will recognize the line or be able to offer suggestions for where to look.
David's gr-gr-grandparents were John Campbell and Anna Eliza Johnston. From the 1880 Census, their daughter's obituary the "Methodist" Cemetary at the White United Presbyterian Church in Fairfield Twp and a lovely lady name Mrs. Murphy, I know the following:
John Campbell was born in PA 24 May 1819 and died 16 May 1886 and is buried in the "Methodist" cemetary in New Florence, Fairfield Twp, Westmoreland, PA.
Anna Eliza Johnston was born in PA 24 Dec 1825 and died 23 Mar 1909 and is buried near her husband. Her parents were Henry Johnston and Isabella Ambrose both born in PA.
In 1880 they made their home in New Florence as farmers. They had the following children: Oliver, Henrietta, John M., Amanda J. (mrd a Metzger), Ida May (never married) and Lillie E (who married William Smith and became my husband's great grannie)
Sound familiar to anyone?
