I am also looking for my family in Cosenza. My grandfather's name was John J. Spizzirri, my grandmother's name was Theresa Monaco Spizzirri. I believe their parents were from Cosenza area. Do you have any information on any Spizzirri's?

Hi Marsha:

Unfortunately, my grandfather was Carmine Spizzirri and my grandmother was Rosina Lucchetta.

Cosenza must be very popular if you name is Spizzirri.

Good luck with your search. I'll keep trying too.

Rosemarie

Obviously Spizzirri is a very popular name. My grandfather was Carmen (Caramine) Spizzirri, from Cosenza, he was married to Rosa Lucchetta (unfortunately, I don't know where she was from.

Hi everybody: I'm descendant of Serafino Spizzirri and Teresa Ziccarelli. They were parents of Gaspare, who travelled to Argentina and made his family here.
I want to contact with Spizzirris with roots in Marano Marchesato.
Thank you
Daniel Espesir (originally, Spizzirri), from Argentina

Good Morning Daniel:

I am related to Carmine Spizzirri and Rosina Lucchetta from Cosenza. As far as I know, none of their families moved to Argentina.

You're the first person to reply since 2002. I guess the rest of the Spizzirri's aren't computer literate.

Ciao for now,

Rosemarie.

Ciao, Rosemarie: don´t be cruel with the family (it's a joke).
I want to look in my database if I could find the names you mentioned.
I'd rather interchange mails from personal e-mails, without this mediation. But, if you prefer this way, no trouble with me.
You said your ancestors came from Cosenza, but you don`t mentioned the hometown. My family came from Marano Marchesato, but I know there`s a lot of comune in wich you could find Spizzirri, Spizziri (with just one "r") and Spizzirro.
I think, maybe foolishly, we all have an ancestors in common, or at least a few ones. But the data, perhaps, dont'let us to find.
It was very surprising receive an answer. I'm triyng too to find our Spizzirri's roots (and got a couple of american Spizzirris in my e-mails direction's list).
Best wishes and excuse for my English
Daniel Espesir, from La Plata, Argentina

I am absolutely amazed at how many spizzirri there are out there
with every ones help I have discovered more info on my family tree. I have actually gotten in touch with a 3rd cousin the USA. We still have limited info but this is it so far
grandparents- Francseco Spizzirri & Emilia Moretti
gr grand parents - Giovanni Spizzirri & Theresa Palermo
, so far we know of only 2 of their children a) Francesco b) Micele (born 1879),married Thersina Moretti they were all from Marano Marchesato, and we know that most settled in the states in the early 1900s. Does anyone know of these families, we know my grandfather had more brothers and sister, but we dont know who they are.
